6th – 9th June 2024
The competition is a Catch & Release event to successfully demonstrate competitive angling in harmony with responsible conservation.
This is the largest Catch & Release competition (for Trout) ever held in Ireland, with a combined prize pot of approximately €15,000 Euros.
It is an individual event, run over three heat days, on Thursday 6th June, Friday 7th June, and Saturday 8th June, with the final on Sunday 9th June. Prize giving, draws and refreshments will all be provided at the “Competition Hub” at Rossinver Community Centre.
Each competitor may take part in ONE heat only. The numbers in each heat may vary due to boat and angler availability. The Competition Committee will be responsible for heat allocations, endeavouring to allocate anglers to their requested heat days as much as possible. The Committee’s decisions are final.
Two anglers will fly fish from a boat, using traditional wet and dry fly methods. The draw for boat partners will be made by the organisers on the evening prior to the heats and the final and will be announced at 9am on the day.
The competition heats and the final will be held subject to suitable weather conditions. In the event of a cancellation, the committee will at their discretion, decide on an alternative date. If this is not possible, then a refund of the entry fee will be issued.
